UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Liz Truss says that London is considering all options for responding if Moscow invades Ukraine.
"We are considering all options," Truss told reporters at a G7 foreign ministers' meeting, Reuters reports.
"When the UK has wanted to send clear messages and achieve clear goals we have been prepared to use economic sanctions," Truss noted.
As German newspaper Bild reported, citing its own sources in NATO and the security services, Moscow could try to carry out a new armed invasion of Ukraine in three stages.
Earlier, Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said that the Russian invasion could take place in January-February in several directions: through sections of the eastern border (both government-controlled and non-government-controlled), as well as from Crimea and Belarus.
U.S. President Joe Biden said he told Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia would pay "a terrible price" and face devastating economic consequences if it invaded Ukraine.
