Former commander of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Defense Army, Hero of Artsakh Jalal Harutyunyan has been discharged from hospital. Gevorg Altunyan, head of the information and public relations department of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
"He is in normal [health] condition, he is in the stage of recuperation, he will be treated at home for still some time," Altunyan added.
Jalal Harutyunyan was wounded in a combat position during the recent Artsakh war, and for that reason he was dismissed—on October 27—from the post of Artsakh Defense Minister and Defense Army Commander. He was replaced by Mikayel Arzumanyan.
Artsakh President Arayik Haroutyunyan has bestowed upon Lieutenant General Jalal Harutyunyan the highest title of Hero of Artsakh for his exceptional services to Artsakh and for his courage and personal bravery in the defense and security of the Homeland.
