Russia's aggression and coronavirus pandemic are the biggest challenges that Ukraine and Europe face today.
"Among the many battlefields where unity is most needed, there are two extremely important fronts: first, our common position against Russian aggression and our solidarity in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic," Ex-President of the European Council, the European People's Party President Donald Tusk said, addressing participants of the Special edition of Kyiv Security Forum, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
He called the two threats "unexpected, insidious, having no rules and killing thousands of people."
Tusk recalled the EU's support package for Ukraine to combat COVID-19 and €1.2 billion in macro-financial assistance, which "goes far beyond what any other partner has provided".
The European People's Party President also warned Ukrainian politicians against quarrels before the elections as internal disputes are the best gift for a third party. "You know better than anyone who I mean," he said.
Tusk also underscored the need to preserve the unity of Ukrainians in the face of major challenges: Russian aggression, European prospects for the country, internal reforms, and coronavirus pandemic.
The politician also called on Ukrainians to make even more efforts to reform the country.
