The Kyiv Pechersk Lavra monastery reopened to visitors after lockdown on May 25, the information department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate has reported.
"Restrictions on visiting the territory of the Holy Dormition Kyiv Pechersk Lavra have been lifted from May 25, 2020," the report reads.
It notes that the monastery will operate in accordance with the norms set by the Cabinet of Ministers. In particular, religious services will be conducted with the obligatory observance of the distance between believers, with a maximum of one person per ten square meters of floor space.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on April 13 that the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra had been closed for quarantine according to a decision of the city's emergency situations commission.
