The GiveMeSport sports news portal has published a ranking of the best strikers in the history of the Champions League in terms of the number of games played and goals scored.
The first place in the ranking went to Barcelona captain Lionel Messi, who scored 114 goals in 141 matches (0.81 goals per game), according to the website of the portal.
Former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is second (0.77 goals per match), and Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo is third (0.76).
Ukrainian Andriy Shevchenko, who played for Dynamo Kyiv, Milan and Chelsea, scored 48 goals in 100 matches (0.48). This is the 12th result.
