The official forex rate against the euro for Thursday is fixed at UAH 29.58 per euro.
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on April 8 set the official forex rate for April 9 at UAH 27.20 to the U.S. dollar, which let the country's national currency weaken by 10 kopiykas.
The Central Bank fixed the following official forex rates of the hryvnia against key foreign currencies for April 9: US$100 will be quoted at UAH 2,719.65 (UAH 2,709.96 as of April 8); EUR 100 will be quoted at UAH 2,957.62 (UAH 2,956.7 as of April 8). On Wednesday, the forex rate of the U.S. dollar set by Kyiv's currency exchange booths was UAH 27.20, while that of the euro was UAH 29.60. As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank on April 2 conducted the third transaction to exchange cash dollars for cashless ones, transferring US$241.5 million to banks. The first transaction was US$180 million and the second one amounted to US$130 million. Since the middle of March, some Ukrainian banks have suspended sales of cash currency over its shortage caused by delivery problems amid limited international flights.
