Presidential adviser Mykhailo Fedorov believes that ban on access to Russian social networks should not be lifted since there is a lot of content that has a negative impact on Ukrainians.
“I can share my personal opinion. I would not recommend lifting the ban on Odnoklassniki and Vkontakte social networks as I do not see any reason for this. There is a lot of content that has a negative impact on Ukrainians,” Fedorov said in an interview with LIGA.net.
When asked whether the corresponding sanctions will be extended, he noted: “I would recommend [to extend them]. Unfortunately, Vkontakte became Russia’s special operation against Ukraine. After Pavel Durov left, it became obvious.”
In May 2017, the then President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the imposition of three-year sanctions on Russian Internet company Yandex, Mail.Ru Group, social networks Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki.
