At a meeting on September 22, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution on approving an action plan for the development of technical regulation system for the period up to 2025, Ukrinform reports, referring to the Economy Ministry’s press service.
It is noted that the government's decision is aimed at creating conditions for the production of competitive domestic products and ensuring its competitiveness in European and world markets with technical regulation tools, overcoming technical barriers to trade between Ukraine and the EU, increasing exports of Ukrainian goods to these markets due to recognition of the Ukrainian technical regulation system at the European and international levels.
“This is an extremely important document, the implementation of which will enable fulfilling the obligations set out in the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU in terms of technical regulation and adapt to domestic legislation the latest changes in EU legislation, as well as obtain simplified conditions for domestic industrial access to the EU market,” said First Deputy Economy Minister Volodymyr Hryniuk.
Adoption and implementation of the resolution is a required condition for concluding an agreement on conformity assessment and acceptability of industrial goods (ACAA agreement, the so-called industrial free-visa regime).
