President Volodymyr Zelensky has created a working group to develop proposals to minimize threats from the construction of gas pipelines bypassing Ukraine.
According to the president’s press service, this is stipulated in order No. 545/2021-rp of September 16.

“In connection with the construction of gas pipelines bypassing Ukraine and challenges in the energy sector, in particular the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 project, which contains direct threats to national security and the security of the entire region, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed order No. 545/2021-rp on September 16, creating a working group to develop proposals to manage the relevant risks,” reads the report.

By this order, the Head of State approved the members of the working group. Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak will lead the group, which will include Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov, CEO of NJSC Naftogaz Yuriy Vitrenko, Minister of Energy German Galushchenko, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov.

“According to the document, the head of the working group, if necessary, can make changes to its composition and involve representatives of executive authorities, scientific institutions, public associations, as well as independent experts in the work,” reads the report.

As reported, Russia’s Gazprom on September 10 announced the completion of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which is to ensure the delivery of Russian natural gas to Europe bypassing Ukraine.
