The Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine has been submitted for registration in Ukraine, the Public Health Center has reported.
"Yesterday, on February 15, 2021, an application was submitted to the State Expert Center of the Ukrainian Health Ministry for state registration of the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in Ukraine under the obligation for emergency medical use," the report reads.

According to the report, on the same day, the World Health Organization approved the AstraZeneca vaccine for emergency use and greenlighted the use of this vaccine worldwide under the COVAX scheme. The Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine had earlier received permission for emergency use in the United Kingdom, the European Union, and India.

On January 29, 2021, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed Law No. 4613 "On Medicinal Products," which simplifies the procedure for registration and use of COVID-19 vaccines in Ukraine and reduces it to five days.
