Health Minister Maksym Stepanov has stated that the Health Ministry is considering an issue of establishing an anti-epidemiological service within the ministry.
“.. We are now considering an issue of creation of an anti-epidemiological service within the Health Ministry, which would have a very clear functionality, in particular - conducting all measures, introducing infection control, which is a response depending on the situation by those specialists who should be in this service," Stepanov stated at a briefing on May 28, when asked whether the ministry plans to establish the State Sanitary Epidemiological Service of Ukraine as a separate agency.

A reminder that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine by its resolution as of 2017 liquidated the State Sanitary Epidemiological Service.

Ukraine’s cases of the coronavirus COVID-19 rose to 22,382 as of May 28, including 477 new infections confirmed in the previous day.
