Ukraine has confirmed 578 new coronavirus COVID-19 cases over the past day, bringing total to 7,170, according to the Public Health Centre.
"7,170 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed. A total, 72,296 samples in Ukraine have been tested using PCR method. On April 22, 578 new cases were confirmed," Public Health Centre wrote on Facebook.

Some 4,862 people are undergoing treatment at home under doctors’ supervision, including 372 children. In hospitals, there are 2,308 patients with COVID-19, including 103 children and 223 healthcare workers. Some 100 people are on artificial lung ventilation, of whom is one child.

According to the Public Health Centre, 187 people have died from complications related to COVID-19, including 94 men and 93 women. Among those deceased were mostly people over the age of 50 (85%).

At the same time, 504 people in Ukraine have already recovered - a repeated laboratory test has found no virus.

In particular, coronavirus cases in Ukraine were confirmed in:

Vinnytsia region - 353 cases (45 people recovered);

Volyn region - 188 cases (17 recovered);

Dnipropetrovsk region - 186 cases (11 recovered);

Donetsk region - 21 cases (10 recovered);

Zhytomyr region - 304 cases (1 recovered);

Zakarpattia region - 230 cases (22 recovered);

Zaporizhzhia region - 146 cases (21 recovered);

Ivano-Frankivsk region - 644 cases (27 recovered);

Kyiv city - 1,059 cases (45 recovered);

Kyiv region - 451 cases (33 recovered);

Kirovohrad region - 258 cases (31 recovered);

Lviv region. - 282 cases (32 recovered);

Luhansk region - 27 cases (3 recovered);

Mykolaiv region - 99 cases;

Odesa region - 161 cases (3 recovered);

Poltava region - 161 cases (12 recovered);

Rivne region - 396 cases (29 recovered);

Sumy region - 89 cases (28 recovered);

Ternopil region - 499 cases (38 recovered);

Kharkiv region - 101 cases (6 recovered);

Kherson region - 77 cases (10 recovered);

Khmelnytskyi region - 61 cases (7 recovered);

Cherkasy region - 220 cases (34 recovered);

Chernivtsi region – 1,140 cases (36 recovered);

Chernihiv region - 17 cases (3 recovered).
