The number of passengers served by Ukrainian transport companies in January-March 2020 decreased by 16.3% compared with the relevant period in 2019, to 19.6 billion passenger-kilometers, according to the data provided by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
"In January-March 2020, the passenger turnover of transport enterprises amounted to 19.6 billion passenger kilometers, or 83.7% of the volume of January-March 2019," reads the statement.

Over the reporting period, 898.2 million passengers used the services of domestic transport companies, which is 15.5% less year-on-year.

In particular, the number of passengers carried by rail in January-March 2020 made up 29.1 million, which is 19.4% less year-on-year; passenger turnover made up 4.89 billion passenger-kilometers (down 21.3%).

Some 384.4 million passengers were carried by motor vehicles, which is 15.8% less year-on-year, passenger turnover made up about 6.99 billion passenger-kilometers (down 13.6%).

Ukrainian airlines carried 2.0 million passengers over the reporting period, which is 17.3% less than in January-March 2019; passenger turnover amounted to almost 4.61 billion passenger-kilometers (down 15.5%).

As Ukrinform reported, according to the State Statistics Service, the passenger turnover of transport enterprises amounted to 107.9 billion passenger-kilometers in 2019, which is 3.3% higher than in 2018.
