Ukraine has reported 501 new cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past day, bringing the total number to 4,662, according to the Public Health Centre.
“4,662 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed. On April 16, there were 501 reports of new confirmed cases. 125 people died from complications related to the disease, including 66 men and 59 women. Among those deceased were mostly people over the age of 50 (87%),” the Public Health Centre wrote on Facebook.

Some 1,611 people have been hospitalized, including 73 children. Some 3,051 patients are being treated at home, under doctors’ supervision.

At the same time, 246 people in Ukraine have already recovered - a repeated laboratory test has found no virus.

In particular, coronavirus cases in Ukraine were confirmed in:

Vinnytsia region – 296 cases (17 recoveries);

Volyn region – 122 cases (11 recoveries);

Dnipropetrovsk region – 89 cases (9 recoveries);

Donetsk region – 12 cases (6 recoveries);

Zhytomyr region – 177 cases (1 recovery);

Zakarpattia region – 150 cases (12 recoveries);

Zaporizhzhia region – 118 cases (12 recoveries);

Ivano-Frankivsk region – 427 cases (27 recoveries);

Kirovohrad region – 218 cases (6 recoveries);

Kyiv city – 705 cases (30 recoveries);

Kyiv region – 253 cases (16 recoveries);

Lviv region - 203 cases (11 recoveries);

Luhansk region - 9 cases;

Mykolaiv region - 32 cases;

Odesa region - 93 cases;

Poltava region - 41 cases (4 recoveries);

Rivne region - 240 cases (8 recoveries);

Sumy region - 81 cases (6 recoveries);

Ternopil region - 353 cases (25 recoveries);

Kharkiv region - 56 cases (2 recoveries);

Kherson region - 51 cases (5 recoveries);

Khmelnytskyi region – 38 cases (3 recoveries);

Cherkasy region – 137 cases (7 recoveries);

Chernivtsi region - 759 cases (25 recoveries);

Chernihiv region - 12 cases (3 recoveries).
