The fight between WBC super lightweight champion Jose Carlos Ramirez (25-0, 17 KOs) of the United States and mandatory challenger Viktor Postol (31-2, 12 KOs) of Ukraine has been postponed for the second time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, said the fight would still happen, no matter what, according to BoxingScene.
"I feel terribly for Jose and Viktor, who have entered two training camps, only to see the fight postponed both times. They are consummate professionals, and they will give the great Fresno fans a memorable fight whenever it occurs. We owe it to Jose and Viktor to make this fight happen as soon as it's safe to do so," Arum said.
Ramirez and Postol were initially scheduled to meet in Haikou, China, on February 1, but as coronavirus spread quickly throughout China, the fight was canceled and moved to Fresno (California, the United States). The duel was to take place on May 9.
