The Cabinet of Ministers still has a lot to do to build a transparent land market in Ukraine - from the creation of an efficient land cadastre to systematic support for farmers, Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak has reported on Facebook following the parliament's adoption of a law opening the country's land market.
"The Verkhovna Rada has finally passed the law on land! This is undoubtedly a historic event. And this is the first step in land reform. The government must do a lot to build a transparent and fair land market - from an efficient land cadastre to systematic support for our farmers," he wrote.
Yermak also said that nowadays the tasks include the comprehensive development of the agricultural sector, as well as food security and the socio-economic strengthening of rural areas.
The Verkhovna Rada early on March 31 adopted the law on amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine on the sale of agricultural land.
