The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is developing a plan to support the economy amid a coronavirus outbreak, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has stated.
“The challenges facing Ukraine and the whole world are changing our lives. We must adapt to new realities, new rules of behavior and sacrifice our habits for a while. Under such conditions, the Government understands that it cannot but think about the economic consequences. We are negotiating with countries and international financial organizations for obtaining assistance. We are creating a stabilization fund. We have invited the best experts, scientists and businessmen to develop a plan to support the economy," Shmyhal said in a video address.

“Yes, it will be difficult. Yes, many regular things will have to be abandoned. But by joint efforts we will undoubtedly overcome the coronavirus,” the prime minister added.

As of the morning of March 23, Ukraine had 73 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19, three of which were lethal. One patient recovered.
