Health Minister Ilya Yemets has called on the government to declare a state of emergency across Ukraine to counteract the coronavirus spread.
In a post on the ministry’s Facebook page, he wrote: “I have been talking about this since the first day of my work in government. It should have been done from the beginning. If it happed, there would not have been such a spread that is now developing geometrically”.
Ilya Yemets has added that in order to effectively combat the spread of COVID-19, all Ukrainians should take a conscious position, minimize contacts, observe hygiene rules, and follow the Health Ministry’s recommendations.
As of the morning of March 23, Ukraine had 73 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19, three of which were lethal. One patient recovered.
