Verkhovna Rada Chairman Dmytro Razumkov has signed an order on urgent measures to ensure the smooth work of the parliament and its bodies in connection with the spread of coronavirus.
The deputy head of the Servant of the People faction, Yevheniya Kravchuk, wrote this on her Facebook page.
"While the Cabinet of Ministers is planning quarantine measures, the Verkhovna Rada chairman has already canceled foreign business travel of people's deputies until the epidemiological situation in the world changes. There will be hand sanitizers at the entrances to the Verkhovna Rada. Dmytro Razumkov issued an order today," Kravchuk said.
She illustrated her post with a respective photocopy of a document signed by the parliament speaker and dated March 11, 2020.
According to the order, respective measures are being taken amid the situation in the world, including in the European Union, due to the spread of acute respiratory disease caused by coronavirus and in order to prevent the emergence and spread of infectious diseases.
As of March 11, more than 119,000 people worldwide contracted the novel coronavirus Covid-19, 65,000 recovered, and 4,284 died.
According to the Ukrainian Health Ministry, one coronavirus case was confirmed in Chernivtsi.
