"The first coronavirus case in Campania has been confirmed: it is a 26-year-old Ukrainian woman from Cremona who has been hospitalized at the San Luca hospital in Vallo della Lucania, the province of Salerno," the statement reads.

It notes that the woman, who works and lives in Italy, was feeling unwell for several days and went to the hospital on February 25, where she tested positive for Covid-19.

The Cotugno Hospital in Naples, specializing in infectious diseases, has confirmed a positive test result.
