The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has recommended that Ukrainian citizens temporarily refrain from traveling to the provinces of the Italian regions of Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia Romagna and Piedmont due to the highest risk of being infected with the COVID-19 disease there, the ministry's press service has reported.
"Due to the aggravation of the epidemic situation related to the spread of the new type of coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in the northern regions of Italy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Ukrainian citizens temporarily refrain from traveling to the affected provinces of the Italian regions of Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia Romagna and Piedmont where there's the highest risk of infection," the report reads.
Ukrainians who continue to stay in these regions were advised to exercise vigilance and caution, avoid visiting virus-infected provinces, report their whereabouts and contact details to the nearest consular office of Ukraine, or register on the website friend.mfa.gov.ua.
