The United Kingdom has not forgotten Russia’s attempt to redraw Europe’s boundaries and will never recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea, which is a blatant violation of international law.
British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons said this in a statement posted on her Twitter account.

“Six years ago Russia began its illegal annexation of Crimea. The UK has not forgotten Russia’s attempt to redraw Europe’s boundaries and will never recognise this blatant violation of international law. We call on Russia to end its illegitimate control of Crimea," the ambassador wrote.

She added the hashtag #CrimeaIsUkraine to her post.

February 20 is the official date of the beginning of the temporary occupation of Crimea, which was determined by the resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "On the Statement of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "On Countering the Armed Aggression of the Russian Federation and Overcoming its Consequences" of April 21, 2015.
