Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko will mention in his speech at the UN General Assembly meeting the need to deploy a peacekeeping mission in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
"I leave for New York to talk with the Secretary-General and deliver a speech at the UN General Assembly, in particular, to remind that we are waiting for, as far as it is possible, this [peacekeeping] operation to be deployed not on the contact line only, as suggested by the Russian Federation, but throughout the occupied territory of Ukraine," Prystaiko said on the air of the Freedom of Speech TV program on ICTV channel, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
In this context, he noted that the issue of peacekeeping mission deployment was raised at every Normandy format meeting at the level of leaders or ministers, as well as at the Trilateral Contact Group meetings in Minsk.
