Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Ukraine Teymuraz Sharashenidze and supported the initiative to intensify and expand cooperation between the NSDC of Ukraine and the National Security Council of Georgia.
"We should translate cooperation between our agencies into practices," Danilov said, the NSDC press service reports.

The parties also exchanged views on the current security situation in Europe and the world.

The NSDC Secretary expressed his gratitude to Georgia for the support of Ukraine in difficult times of war and struggle for the restoration of territorial integrity. "Our friendship has been there for many years, and our current struggle against external aggression is similar. I am convinced that our relations, friendship, trade should develop further," Danilov noted.

According to the NSDC Secretary, Ukraine and Georgia should intensify cooperation in the field of Euro-Atlantic integration. "NATO membership is a strategic goal of Ukraine, enshrined in the Constitution, and we should work together with Georgia in this direction," Danilov pointed out adding that cyber security cooperation is promising in this context.

In his turn, Ambassador Sharashenidze assured of Georgia's unwavering stance on the restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity over the annexed Crimea and the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas. He also called for enhancing bilateral cooperation: "Our cooperation should move to a new level, particularly in matters of relations with NATO, de-occupation, and strengthening of democratic institutions."
