Turkey does not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation and will continue to support the Crimean Tatar people, as well as the Meskhetian Turks and Gagauz people.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky following the eighth meeting of the Ukraine-Turkey High-Level Strategic Council, which took place in Kyiv on February 3.

"We do not recognize the illegal annexation. We supported and continue to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including the Crimean peninsula," Erdogan said.

He noted that Ankara will continue to support the Crimean Tatar people, as well as the Meskhetian Turks and Gagauz.

Erdogan also said that Turkey will help build housing for 500 families of Crimean Tatars who have relocated to other parts of Ukraine after Crimea's annexation.
