The Verkhovna Rada has dismissed Aliona Babak from the post of minister for communities and territories development of Ukraine.
A total of 266 MPs supported relevant resolution No.2767, with at least 226 votes needed to take a decision, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"To dismiss Aliona Babak from the post of minister for communities and territories development of Ukraine,” reads the document.
As Ukrinform reported, on January 17, the Committee on the Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Development recommended that the Verkhovna Rada consider the dismissal of Aliona Babak as minister for communities and territories development and support her resignation. The reason for the dismissal is her earlier submitted letter of resignation.
Aliona Babak was an MP of the VIII convocation elected from Samopomich political party. Prior to the acquisition of a parliamentary mandate, she held the position of director and co-founder of LLC Institute for Local Development. On August 29, 2019, she was appointed as minister for communities and territories development.
