Russian High Commissioner for Human Rights Tatiana Moskalkova says there are no agreements between the Russian Federation and Ukraine on a new exchange of detainees.
"The practice shows that the process of exchange of citizens between the two states begins after the agreements between the two presidents. I don’t know anything about such an agreement. I heard only statements by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, and the other side hasn’t said anything yet," Moskalkova told Russian journalists in Strasbourg, TASS reports.
The Russian ombudsman noted that she is in constant contact with her Ukrainian counterpart Liudmyla Denisova, but so far they have not carried out any reconciliation of documents or lists related to the exchange.
As reported, on January 23, Zelensky stated that Ukraine is holding talks on the release of citizens detained in the temporarily occupied territory and in Russia.
