A court in Bulgaria has arrested Oleksiy Moskalenko (aka Levin), a suspect in the case on the murder of activist Kateryna Handziuk, for 40 days, according to Bulgarian news site Flagman.
"Burgas Regional Court has imprisoned the foreigner for 40 days," the report reads.
Levin asked the court to place him under house arrest with the obligation to wear an ankle bracelet due to serious heart disease after four operations.
Oleksiy Moskalenko (aka Levin), who was wanted on suspicion of involvement in the attack on activist Kateryna Handziuk, was arrested in Bulgaria on January 24. He was identified on the basis of fingerprints as he changed his appearance and gait.
An acid attack was committed on activist Kateryna Handziuk near the entrance to her house in Kherson on July 31, 2018. Burns covered 40 percent of her body. She underwent several operations but died on November 4, 2018.
Five people were detained on suspicion of involvement in her murder. Ihor Pavlovsky, a former aide to MP Mykola Palamarchuk, was arrested on November 12, 2018.
