Newly appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Volodymyr Yelchenko has presented his credentials to U.S. President Donald Trump.
"Presented my credentials from Volodymyr Zelensky to Donald Trump today. Honored to represent Ukraine in the United States which always stood firmly in support of our independence. Ukrainians will never forget this. Our strategic partnership to be enhanced for benefit of both nations," Yelchenko wrote on Twitter on January 6.
As reported, Zelensky appointed Yelchenko Ukraine's ambassador to the United States on December 18, 2019.
Earlier, the president dismissed Yelchenko from his post of permanent representative of Ukraine to the United Nations and ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Jamaica.
