Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law introducing amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding military duty and military service, which provides for the introduction of new military ranks of non-commissioned and warrant officers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The law introduces NATO ranks for non-commissioned, warrant officers and soldiers and also normalizes their development in accordance with NATO standards and challenges facing our country.

The law is aimed at improving the Ukrainian legislation on military duty, the introduction of new military ranks of non-commissioned and warrant officers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that meet NATO standards, enhancing the role of non-commissioned and warrant officers in the training and education of subordinate personnel to ensure they perform tasks assigned to them, the creation of additional motivational factors for Ukrainian citizens to undergo military service under contracts, which will facilitate the transition of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of Ukraine to a professional basis.

The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, adopted the law on October 17.
