The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to conduct a census in Ukraine in November-December next year, the Ombudsman's Office has reported on Facebook.
"The government has finally agreed on the terms of holding an all-Ukrainian population census. It will be held in November-December next year," the report said.

It also notes that the observance of the legislation in the sphere of personal data protection during a trial census was discussed at a meeting between a representative of Commissioner for Personal Data Protection Mykola Smuk, employees of the Department of Personal Data Protection of the Secretariat of the Commissioner and representatives of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

The main issues discussed at the meeting were the amount of information about people that will be collected during the census and ensuring that the data collected is adequately protected.

Representatives of the Secretariat of the Commissionner also emphasized the need to amend the law of Ukraine "On an All-Ukrainian Population Census."
