Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Estonia Mariana Betsa has said that Estonian investments are focused on the Ukrainian industry, trade and real estate operations.
In particular, she told Ukrinform that Estonian investments attracted into the Ukrainian industry made up 69.5% of the total volume, into the wholesale and retail trade - 12.8%, and into the real estate operations - 7.7%.

At the same time, Ukrainian investors are eager to invest in agriculture, forestry and fishery in Estonia.

When asked about priority directions of cooperation between the two countries, Betsa noted: "First of all, this is a political direction, a political dialogue between Ukraine and Estonia."

“In general, there is very active cooperation in this area, as there are a lot of delegations. And we are glad that Estonia always supports Ukraine in all international organizations, condemns the illegal occupation and annexation of Crimea, aggressive actions in Donbas and, like other Baltic countries, advocates Ukraine on all international sites. We are very grateful to Estonia for the creation of the Baltic Plus group within PACE in order to defend the principles of organization and counter Russian aggression,“ said Betsa.

According to her, the second important priority is the economic direction.

“We should develop economic cooperation as much as possible, and attract investments in Ukraine as much as we can. I consider it a great achievement that we have recently opened the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Estonia, which helps to establish contacts between Ukrainian and Estonian companies, establish business in Estonia and Ukraine. First of all, it is a platform for exchanging information on amending the legislation, on finding partners in a certain area,” said the ambassador.

She also added that there are also other directions as farming, IT and healthcare: “Of course, we should attract investments into the Ukrainian economy as much as we can”.
