Defense Minister of Ukraine Andriy Zahorodniuk has stated that Ukraine's accession to NATO remains a key priority of the Ministry.
“Within the framework of a working visit to NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Zahorodniuk participated in a meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of defense ministers of the Resolute Support Mission contributing states,” the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports.
As noted, the Ukrainian minister told NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg about the progress of reform of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stressing that accession to NATO remained a key priority of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The current situation in eastern Ukraine and the Azov-Black Sea region was also discussed. Zahorodniuk suggested making the format of cooperation more practical.
Minister Zahorodniuk also held important bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers of France, Italy, Georgia and Sweden, the press service reports.
