The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has returned the State Audit Service to the subordination of the Finance Ministry.
The government made the corresponding decision at a meeting on Sunday, October 20, Finance Minister Oksana Markarova wrote on her Facebook page.
“After three years passed, the Cabinet of Ministers today has returned the State Audit Service into the management of the Finance Ministry,¨ she wrote.
According to her, the service will soon be reformed into “a small but very powerful financial inspection and audit body, and will be focused on state-owned companies and local budgets without duplicating the functions of the Accounting Chamber and chief internal auditors."
As reported, the State Audit Service was created in line with a resolution issued by the Cabinet of Ministers on October 28, 2015 and was subordinate to the State Financial Inspectorate of Ukraine.
According to the regulation on the State Audit Service, this department is the central executive body, the activities of which are directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers.
