President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has invited western business to become part of the process of transformation of Ukraine into a European developed country.
He stated this at a meeting with U.S. businessmen in New York, the president’s press service reported.
"This is what is most important to us: we will identify and systematically address all the problems of western companies in Ukraine - from customs and tax to investor protection and intellectual property rights," he said.
According to him, there is everything needed for this: the political will of the President, the majority in the Verkhovna Rada, the government and the Prime Minister willing to work.
“The only thing we lack today is time. The society will not wait several years for something to work in Ukraine. We implement structural transformation and I sincerely invite you all to become part of this important process - transformation of Ukraine into a truly European developed country, free from corruption and full of business opportunities,” he added.
The president stressed that transparency and the rule of law were indispensable prerequisites for successful business, attracting investments and implementing new ideas.
“We will reform the judicial system so that every investor - western or Ukrainian - can confidently count on justice. We have already started reforming the law enforcement agencies to ensure that corruption crimes are investigated and punishment for them is imminent,” the president said.
