The North Caucasus Military District Court of Rostov-on-Don town in Russia has left six defendants in the Yalta “Hizb ut-Tahrir case” in custody until November 18, 2019.
“The North Caucasus Military District Court of Rostov-on-Don left the defendants in the Yalta ‘Hizb ut-Tahrir case’ in custody. The arrestees will stay in the pre-trial detention center until November 18, 2019,” the Crimea.Realities portal reports.
The defendants in the case spoke in court. In particular, Vadym Siruk said that he considered the charges against all the defendants to be unlawful.
A human rights activist arrested in this case, Emir-Usein Kuku, also said in court that after the annexation in Crimea, “pressure is being put on all the dissenters, on all who have their own opinion, on all who have not caved in to the authorities.”
As reported, the defendants in the Yalta “Hizb ut-Tahrir case” - Arsen Dzhepparov, Refat Alimov, Emir-Usein Kuku, Muslim Aliyev, Inver Bekirov and Vadym Siruk – were detained in Yalta, occupied Crimea, in February-April 2016. They are accused of terrorism and involvement in the Islamic political organization banned in Russia.
