Ukrainian agrarians threshed 39.7 million tonnes of early grains from 10 million hectares (ha) as of September 9, 2019, which is 66% of the target forecast. In particular, the farmers collected 39.2 million tonnes of early grains and legumes from 9.96 million ha, which is 99.9% of the forecast; 29,000 tonnes of buckwheat from 46,000 ha (32% of the target); 110,000 tonnes of millet from 58,000 ha (64% of the forecast); and 2.5 million tonnes of sunflower from 1.2 million ha (21% of the forecast), the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry's press service said. In addition, the farmers from 15 Ukrainian regions have started harvesting maize: 281,000 tonnes of grain have already been threshed from 46,000 ha, or 1% of the forecast.
