Berlin does not recognize the results of Russian local "elections" that were held in the illegally annexed Crimea on September 8.
The German Federal Foreign Office said this in a post on its Twitter account.
"Local elections organized by Russia in Crimea and Sevastopol are invalid," the statement says.
It notes that this territory was illegally annexed by Russia. Elections on Ukrainian territory should be organized by Ukraine, the Federal Foreign Office stressed.
As Ukrinform reported, local and regional elections were held in the Russian Federation and in the illegally annexed Crimea and Sevastopol on September 8.
