Presidents of the European Commission Jean Claude Juncker and the European Council Donald Tusk have congratulated Oleksiy Honcharuk on his appointment to the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine.
The relevant joint letter has been posted on Twitter page of Jean Claude Juncker.

“We would like to warmly congratulate you on your appointment as the Prime Minister of Ukraine. Your Government has a strong mandate and parliamentary support,” the letter says.

Juncker and Tusk have also stated that “the EU is committed to continuing to support Ukraine in advancing those important reforms and look forward to implementing jointly the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, in order to make full use of the many opportunities the agreement offers to bring our citizens and businesses together”.

The European leaders have also stressed that the Ukrainian Prime Minister can count on the EU continued support to Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

They have also added that the European Union remains committed to supporting a peaceful solution to the conflict in the east of Ukraine and is unwavering in its non-recognition of the illegal annexation of the Crimean peninsula.
