Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak says Major General Yevhen Moisiuk has been appointed Commander of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine instead of Lieutenant General Mykhailo Zabrodskyi.

"I thank General Zabrodskyi for his service and sincerely wish him success in another field, in legislative one!" the minister wrote on Facebook on August 21. "I congratulate Yevhen Moisiuk on his appointment to the post of Commander of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine! He has repeatedly showed heroism and courage in defending Ukraine's territorial integrity. So, I'm sure his experience will allow developing and strengthening the potential of the Airborne Assault Troops," he added. As reported earlier, Zabrodskyi was elected to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as a member of the European Solidarity Party led by former President Petro Poroshenko.
