Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has met with World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller in Toronto and thanked the World Bank for cooperation with Ukraine, the presidential press service has reported.
"We want to deepen cooperation. Today, we met with the delegation of the IMF, during which the support of Ukraine was reiterated. We are ready to join the new program after the formation of a new government," the head of state said.
The president stressed that Ukraine had achieved macroeconomic stability and was ready to continue implementing reforms after the election of a new Verkhovna Rada.
Zelensky emphasized that over 160 decrees putting pressure on business had been abolished. He also announced the preparations for major privatization.
"We expect this privatization already in 2019," he said.
Zelensky noted that an investment forum on the restoration of Donbas was scheduled for September in Mariupol.
"And we need your help with investment in the infrastructure of Donbas," he said.
According to the head of state, it is important for Ukraine to involve the World Bank in the implementation of infrastructure projects.
