Russian occupation forces launched 23 attacks, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements nine times, on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas over the past day.
“The enemy used weapons on infantry combat vehicles, anti-tank missile systems, grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns and small arms to shell the units of the Joint Forces,” the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

In the zone of action of tactical force “East“, Russian-led forces fired on the defenders of Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk), Pavlopol (25km north-west of Mariupol), Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk), Opytne (12km north-west of Donetsk) and Marinka (23km south-west of Donetsk). The enemy also used grenade launchers and heavy machine guns to shell the Joint Forces units near Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol), Hnutove (20km north-east of Mariupol) and Chermalyk (31km north-east of Mariupol).

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, illegal armed formations used 120mm mortars to shell the Joint Forces units in the area of Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk); 82mm mortars and weapons on infantry combat vehicles – near Krymske (42km north-west of Luhansk); 82mm mortars – near Svitlodarsk (57km north-east of Donetsk); small arms – in the area of Stanytsia Luhanska (16km north-east of Luhansk).

Two Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in shelling. The Joint Forces returned fire adequately. According to the intelligence, two invaders were annihilated and four more were wounded on April 26. Also, the soldiers of the Joint Forces destroyed the enemy’s truck.

In the past 24 hours, Russian-led forces fired at Chermalyk, which resulted in injuries of a local resident.

Today, the enemy has already opened fire from mounted antitank grenade launchers on Ukrainian troops near Novoselivka Druha (36km north-east of Mariupol); heavy machine guns and small arms – outside Shyrokyne. No casualties among Ukrainian servicemen have been reported.
