A Palestinian youth was shot dead by the Israeli occupation near the Al-Aqsa Mosque, while about 20 others were arrested in a campaign carried out by the occupation in occupied Jerusalem.

Palestinian sources said that a young man, whose identity was not known, was martyred after Israeli soldiers shot him at Al-Wad Street in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Later, Palestinian sources reported that the martyr was from Abu Tayer family from Kalandia refugee camp north of Jerusalem.

The young man was injured by more than 10 bullets - according to Palestinian sources - and left bleeding until he died, allegedly carrying out a stabbing that led to the injury of two soldiers at dawn today.

Immediately after the operation, the occupation authorities closed the doors of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and dozens of Palestinians opened dawn prayers on the streets leading to it.

On the other hand, the occupation forces launched at dawn today a large-scale arrests of Jerusalemites, including 20 youths from various neighborhoods of the holy city.
