President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on Monday, signed the law on the termination of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation of Ukraine with Russia. This was reported in the press service of the Office of President of Ukraine.

“The non-renewal of the treaty with Russia should not be viewed as an episode, but as part of our strategy for a final break with the colonial past and a reorientation towards Europe,” the report says.

The head of state also said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine requires the completion of an inventory of the legal framework with Russia.
