Russian-backed militants launched 18 attacks, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements 13 times, on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas in last day.
“Over the past day, the enemy shelled Ukrainian positions outside Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol), Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol), Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk), Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol), Novotroitske (32km south of Donetsk), Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk), Novotoshkivske (53km north-west of Luhansk) and Zolote (67km north-east of Luhansk),” the JFO Headquarters press center reports.
Russian-occupation troops fired mortars of various calibers, weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.
The enemy opened fire from 120mm and 82mm mortars on JFO units outside Zolote, Novotoshkivske (53km north-west of Luhansk), Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol), Vodiane, Hnutove and Lebedynske.
One Ukrainian serviceman was killed, another four were wounded in last day.
Today, the illegal armed formations have already launched two attacks on positions of the Joint Forces outside Pavlopol and Hnutove.
