The United States, accusing China and Chinese companies of economic espionage, must provide concrete evidence, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lu Kang said at a briefing on Friday.

"We have repeatedly expressed our position on the issue that you raised, I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the website of the PRC Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If the American side does have concerns on this subject, then the United States must provide real evidence on concrete examples," said Lu Kang.

US Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Thursday that the United States accused two companies and three individuals of economic espionage in favor of China. He said that the charges relate to Taiwan-based United Microelectronics Corp and Chinese Fujian Jinhua Integrated Circuit, Co., Ltd. According to the charges, the damage to the American company amounted to 8.75 billion dollars.
