In February 2020, consumer prices in Ukraine decreased by 0.3% compared to the previous month, according to the State Statistics Service.
"Consumer prices in February 2020 decreased by 0.3% compared to January 2020 and by 0.1% since the beginning of the year. Core inflation in February 2020 made up 0.1% compared to January 2020 and was 0.3% since the beginning of the year,” reads the report.
Consumer prices in February 2020 decreased by 0.3% compared to January 2020 and grew by 2.4% compared to February 2019. In January-February 2020, consumer prices rose 2.8% compared to the relevant period last year.
Among consumer goods and services, in February 2020 compared to February 2019, the largest increase in prices was recorded in prices for water supply (25.8%), drainage services (21.6%) and education (13.3%).
The largest fall in prices from February 2019 to February 2020 was recorded in prices for natural gas (31.3%), eggs (27.7%), and vegetables (14.3%).
As Ukrinform reported, consumer prices in February 2019 grew by 0.5% from the previous month and by 1.5% since the start of the year. Core inflation made up 0.2% in February 2019 compared to the previous month and 0.5% since the start of the year.
