Positive trend in Ukrainian-Latvian economic relations should continue - Razumkov

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Dmytro Razumkov has met with Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins as part of an official visit to Latvia.
During the talks, Razumkov thanked Karins for his unwavering support for Ukraine in protecting its territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as for its assistance in rehabilitating Ukrainian military, political prisoners and children affected by the war in eastern Ukraine.

Razumkov separately emphasized the importance of a common position on this issue on the international stage. He expressed gratitude for public support of Ukraine, including within the PACE. "You are heard throughout Europe," he said, adding that Ukraine feels support both at the level of reform and assistance in the rehabilitation of Ukrainian citizens.

Razumkov also stressed the need to continue the positive trend in increasing trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Latvia. "We are united not only by a common history and the present, but also by a common future. Ukraine is ready for further cooperation in the economic sphere," he said.

Karins, in turn, said that Ukraine and Latvia are not just neighbors but friendly countries, so it is necessary to look for ways to further develop relations between the states. He also said that Latvia is fully open to cooperation with Ukraine.

At the end of the meeting, Razumkov invited Karins to attend an international conference entitled "Zero Corruption" to be held in Ukraine in April 2020.
