The Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on the peaceful settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine has agreed on a mutual exchange of detainees by the end of the year.
Darka Olifer, the spokesperson for Ukraine's representative in the TCG Leonid Kuchma, wrote this on her Facebook page.
“During a video conference today, the Trilateral Contact Group reached an agreement on the mutual release of prisoners by the end of the year, as stipulated by the results of the summit of the Normandy Four leaders in Paris," Olifer wrote.
She did not provide other details of the arrangements.
As reported, the Normandy Four summit was held in Paris on December 9. It was attended by the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, France, and Germany.
The meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk on December 18 was the first after the Normandy Four summit and the last one in the current year.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said that no progress had been made on the issue of prisoner exchange lists with the so-called ‘Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republic’ during the TCG meeting on December 18.
