Part of the territory of Donbas and Crimea are the Ukrainian territory, and Ukraine is ready to hold a dialogue but is not ready to make compromises on its territorial integrity.
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov made a corresponding statement during a meeting with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejčinović Burić, the Verkhovna Rada press service reports.

Razumkov thanked Pejčinović Burić for her stance on observation of human rights, especially in the temporarily occupied territories.

“Practically all world countries understand that part of the territory both in Donbas and in Crimea are Ukrainian territories. I understand that the mechanisms for the return of these territories will be different but the greatest value of our state - people – live on both these territories,” he said.

At the same time, Razumkov noted that the return of the Russian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe remained unacceptable for Ukraine.

“We also do not understand the situation with the powers of our delegation. I hope this will not become a precedent. We are ready to hold a dialogue, but we are not ready to make compromises on territorial integrity and human dignity,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed.

Razumkov assured the Secretary General of the Council of Europe of Ukraine's readiness to work for the benefit of Europe and the Council of Europe.

The Speaker also noted that the Baltic+ group did not seek a destructive position in the Council of Europe.

“We aim to uphold the basic principles and values that were laid down when this organization was established as the principles of democracy and freedom, human rights are crucial both for Europe and for Ukraine,” he stressed.

The informal group of several national delegations, Baltic +, was set up in PACE in response to Russia's unconditional return to the Assembly.

The group members are Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Georgia.
